Snowflake Challenge #6 and #7

Continuing to churn these out...
Challenge #6: Share your favourite piece of original canon.
Not exactly an answer to the prompt, but I'm using this because this was already on my mind and I'm too lazy to come up with something else: My partner asked me recently if I could think of video games that have a really good/gripping/immersive opening sequence. The one that came to mind most immediately is Final Fantasy VI's opening sequence:
Admittedly, I get a bit tired of this opening sequence because I've seen it like a dozen times (because I keep on starting a new playthrough of FFVI in the vain hope that this time I'll finish the whole game for REAL). But my personal fatigue aside, this opening leaps to mind because it's got a very distinctive vibe that sticks with you long after you see it for the first time.
I think a big part of it is the music -- very dramatic, operatic and ominous. The dialogue is simple but it establishes that you're starting off playing the game as the Bad Guys who do not believe they are bad. And the bleak scenery of the storm clouds and Narshe, combined with the music, effectively establishes this feeling of unease and humanity headed toward a calamity. And then as the staff credits roll, you just see the three mechas marching silently and facelessly through snow and the music is longing and wistful as the snow comes down. Who is this woman robbed of thought? What does she see, think, feel?
(I also think Final Fantasy VII's "bombing mission" opening is also really effective -- throws you into the action, sets up the driving conflict between Barret/Avalanche and Shinra, and also introduces Cloud's enigmatic persona. But I'm not as much of an expert on FFVII!)
Challenge #7: In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a wishlist of sorts.
Well, originally I was going to use this to plug my

I had no idea that there was a whole fanfic fest for Quark/Odo!

Actually, the closest recent FF game I can think of with a "grab you" opening like those two would probably be FFXVI given how it sets up the plot premise so succinctly. It has certainly been awhile! XD
Your wishlist is very nice! I wish I was more active in writing fanworks or creating icons to help out more, but hopefully you will be in for some pleasant surprises in terms of this wishlist later on! ♥

And thanks! I am honestly pretty happy with all the gifts I get in exchanges so it's a bit hard for me to come up with wishlists sometimes, to be honest!
