I'm requesting all video games here, I guess -- and all JRPGs with one exception. For all of these, the main thing I'm looking for is someone who really leans into the characters and the world they inhabit and digs deeper into what makes them tick and/or gives me more of my favorite relationship dynamics from canon.
About the canon: Bravely Default and its sequel Bravely Second are two Nintendo 3DS JRPGs that are spin-offs of the Final Fantasy series. The series seeks to return to FF's roots in many ways with turn-based combat, a traditional "restore the crystals" plotline, and a small 4-person party. But with some plot twists! (And also plot holes!) It's unfortunately out of print and now somewhat expensive to get one's hands on, but you can find cutscene collections: 18 hours for Bravely Default and 10 hours for Bravely Second. I only somewhat recently got into this fandom (within the last 3 years), but I got REALLY into it, especially for the characters/pairing I'm requesting.
About the characters: So I'm mainly here for Alternis Dim and his ridiculous levels of pining for a girl who's in love with an alternate dimensional version of himself. Ouch. Alternis/Edea is my OTP in this fandom, and I would love literally any content with them, either reciprocated or one-sided. I wrote a manifesto detailing my thoughts on this pairing. To highlight some of my favorite aspects: First, I love the contrast between how deep Alternis's feelings are for Edea and how little he expresses them aloud. Second, I love the puppy-love backstory of Alternis being in love with Edea basically since they met, and the way his quasi-adoption into the Lee family is entangled with his feelings for Edea. Third, again, I love the mega awkwardness that is being in love with someone who is in love with an alternate universe version of you, but who seems to have no interest in you.
My request: What I'm interested in here is something that focuses on Alternis's feelings for Edea. Edea doesn't have to appear, but I would like Alternis's thoughts on her to be the focus, whether it's gen sibling/familial fluff, angsty pining on Alternis's part, Alternis being ridiculous in his affections/devotion to Edea, a romantic relationship developing between them, or smut (with or without feelings on Edea's part -- on Alternis's part I want ALL the feels!). I like that feeling when reading romance fiction when there's a character pining and feeling intensely, and you can feel your heart tighten in sympathy. Some examples of fic that really hits the spot for me are Out of the Stillness (for the developing relationship and also the contrast between how intense Alternis's feelings are vs. Edea's) and this Tumblr fic (for just... the awkward fallout of accidentally confessed feelings).

About the canon: Mobius Final Fantasy is a mobile RPG that has been discontinued. Full disclosure: I played this game about a year after its launch, but quit after about a week because I got frustrated not being able to clear story content and at the gaps in storytelling that were the result of joining the game late. But the story piqued my curiosity and I later binged its cutscenes on YouTube. Mostly to find out what Garland's Deal was. I got to the end of Season 1 and was so unsatisfied by what happened to Garland that I also binged Season 2, only to find Garland doesn't appear there and his story arc is entirely contained in Season 1. Anyway, this is to say (1) I'm mainly interested in Garland, (2) for this canon, watching YouTube cutscenes is the level of canon familiarity that I personally have, and (3) this request only involves the 4 hours of cutscenes involved with Season 1. So many aspects of Palamecia -- the very weird metaphysical role that hope plays, heretics (what are they and how do they come to be), etc. -- were really fascinating to me but highly underexplored and handwaved. I just was left wanting much, much more!
About the characters: So uh, this is a different canon but the same request: I'm mainly here for Garland and his pining relationship with a woman who can't return his feelings. Garland does his pining with a bit more Smolder™, though. Anyway, it's strongly hinted (but as far as I can tell, not said outright??) that Garland was an earnest, idealistic Wol who saved the world only to have it repeat all over again with Sarah forgetting him. And, to drive the knife in more, he also has to watch as Sarah slowly breaks under the stress of all the repeated cycles and despair. Every scene he has with her suggests he is a man who once REALLY loved Sarah, and that (now unrequited) love both makes him bitter and jaded but also drives and motivates everything he does, and all of this is mostly conveyed through body language and silent facial expressions rather than words -- that hits me straight in the id and I want more. I really like Garland's scenes, his look, his voice, etc. and thought the game was going to flesh out his backstory but it didn't. At the end, he sacrifices himself and it's unclear if he actually made it to another world or if he just died. Like with Alternis, I'm really drawn to this character whose love for a woman survives memory loss and karmic cycles/eternal recurrences, and where that love motivates so many of their actions but they refuse to name it.

My request: So basically, similar to above, I want something centered around Garland and his feelings for Sarah, but here a more Garland/gen focus is perfectly fine, just because Garland could use more fleshing out in general.

About the canon: The Soulcalibur series is a fighting game series split across about 10 different installments and multiple consoles. However, luckily, it's a fighting game, so there isn't much story per game, and most backstory can be consumed by bios posted online -- you just need to be vaguely familiar with the characters' personalities and you're good to go. I wrote a manifesto that briefly introduces the Soulcalibur series and includes resources for consuming the canon, especially for the characters/pairing I'm requesting. I really like the historical setting/context for the events in this series and love it when people lean into that and take it seriously (more seriously than the source material lmao). (But I mean, I also love AUs so feel free to change the setting. I love that too!)
About the characters: Yun-seong and Mi-na are both some of my favorite SC characters individually, and I love them together too. I like Yun-seong's cockiness that is mixed with a desire/hunger to be recognized by those around him. I like Mi-na's playful immaturity and headstrong personality. I love the way they bounce off each other and have a very teasing relationship and how Mi-na kind of bullies Yun-seong a bit.
My request: I mainly just want Mi-na/Yun-seong content that isn't written by me. I'm desperate -- I've been in the fandom for this series and this pairing for nearly 15 years and lived on crumbs the entire time. Any snapshot of these two's relationship, or your take on how they interact is what I want. I'm not picky! Soulcalibur is a series that attracts mostly crackfic -- I mean, given how over-the-top and historically inaccurate the series is, this makes total sense! But the abundance of crackfic means that I would very much appreciate fic treatments that take the characters more seriously and goes more in the direction of drama, angst, or character study. (But I like crack too, so if some cracky elements slip in, I'd be totally happy with that!)

About the canon: Sword of Mana is a Gameboy Advance JRPG. It's a bit of an overly-verbose game (it memorably takes like 20-30 minutes to get through all the pre-gameplay cutscenes) with some very cheesy dialogue, but it also has a very poignant and sad story like the game it retells, and has some really dark elements like gladiator slaves and religious/ethnic oppression that I'm always interested in seeing explored in more depth. Your best bet for consuming this canon is through GBA emulation or Let's Plays. (There are two sides to the story: the hero's and the heroine's. They differ toward the beginning but are about 70% the same, I estimate.)
About the characters: The heroine of this game is one of my favorite characters. I use her as my avatar on various websites. I like her interactions with all the characters, and her decision at the end of the game gutted me. The hero I don't have as strong attachment to (I've never played his side of the game!), but I also liked his utter trust in and loyalty for the heroine and I think he has great relationships with the other three characters I'm requesting. Willy is another fave (monk characters FTW) and I think his cheerfulness in the face of genuinely awful circumstances is amazing. Amanda is an admirable character whose death is such a gutpunch.

Alternis sketching or placing a picture of Edea in his journal.
Mobius Final Fantasy - Garland: IDK how to describe this, but Garland is quite good at communicating "I WANT TO BE YOUR KNIGHT" vibes to Sarah with his body language, so like... poses or facial expressions that communicate that? Garland and Sarah staring at each other with intense emotions. A tender moment between these two. Knight/chivalry imagery like kneeling, wearing a lady's favor, etc.
Soulcalibur - Hong Yun-seong, Seong Mi-na: Sparring! Touchy-feely poses suiting their vibe, like hugging, rough-housing, piggyback rides, straddling the other, etc. I really love the Hwangseo Palace stage if you want to use that as a setting/backdrop. Modern AU designs. Them in Joseon era clothing.
Sword of Mana - any: Too many characters for individual prompts. The art of this game is very inspiring -- I like the lush trees/grass and the lighting in morning/evening/night. Illustrate any scene from the game. Battle couples. Appropriate flower symbolism for each character. Redesigns or slight tweaks to their designs.

Bravely Default - Alternis Dim, Edea Lee: Mistaken identity dubcon. Awkward first time sex, especially if Alternis is very nervous. Alternis fantasizing about Edea.
Mobius Final Fantasy - Garland: I haven't really thought about this, but gosh, tender sex with Sarah in a previous iteration would be pretty angstastic for a Garland looking back on it.
Soulcalibur / Soul Calibur - Hong Yun-seong, Seong Mi-na: Daring each other into sex or some kind of strip poker-like activity. Sex against a wall. Or having sex in odd places and trying not to get caught. Either fantasizing about the other.
Sword of Mana - any of Hero, Heroine, Willy, Amanda: I'm requesting too many characters for individual ideas, so so some general prompts: Characters having "we're both alive" sex. Treating of injuries turns into sex. Tender first and/or last times. Any character being nonconned by a villain (so many of these characters are slaves/prisoners of the game's villains and that makes it even better for me). Threesomes.

- Character bashing. (By this I mainly mean portraying good guy characters as irredeemable baddies. In general, I like moral complexity and nuance in stories, so people who have both good points and flaws rather than characters who are all one or the other. That said, I like it when people lean into villains' villainy and make them even more dark/creepy than in canon -- I don't consider that to be character bashing.)
- Pregnancy or kidfic.
General likes
- Friendly sparring between warrior characters, and fight scenes more generally.
- AUs of all kinds (canon divergence, coffee shop, whatever).
- Contrasts and opposites.
- Psychodrama / characters working out their Issues (maybe with help from another character!).
- Writing style experimentation, if that's your thing. Any POV and unusual formats (epistolary, in-universe documents, etc.) are all fine with me.
- All ratings from G to E. Blood/violence/injury is fine. Explicit sex is fine.
- All genres: fluff, crack, darkfic, angst, smut, etc.

- Silly/light-hearted love triangle drama.
More tl;dr details for those curious
I like a variety of love triangle elements in fiction -- sometimes when it's for drama, and certainly when it's for comic relief. Probably my favorite type for humor purposes is two people (or chains of people) interested in someone else who is oblivious/uninterested, or (if you can pull it off) a perfect love loop where A likes B who likes C who likes A (or generalize it to larger groups) -- it takes a bit of work but I love the neat symmetry of everyone being involved but thwarted. From a more drama angle, I adore love chains or two people in a relationship and one outside, for the pining. I like feelings of jealousy, especially if it prompts a character to confess when they otherwise wouldn't. However, I don't like when the narrative treats the character who inspires jealousy as clearly evil or having done something wrong by doing that. The only other things I tend to be iffy about re: love triangles is if a character pingpongs between relationships with multiple partners/switches between being warm and cold toward someone multiple times (if the character is consistently loving toward both or has a consistent preference for one, or if the whole arc of the story is focused on going from one to the other as the big change, no issue for me), or if the love triangle makes a character become villainous. But if it feels right for the characters, feel free to include whatever love triangle dynamics you like. - Flirtation/romance/pining.
- Loyalty/putting oneself in danger in order to protect someone else/bodyguard crush/rescue romance.
- Silly/light-hearted love triangle drama.
- Awkwardness / awkward tension.
- Close platonic relationships.
- Incorporation of game mechanics in fanworks/worldbuilding.

- Anything pre-, during-, or post-canon that explores Alternis and Edea's relationship. They have a long history together, punctuated by some pretty dramatic events.
- I like Alternis's super awkward blurted-out proposals, and think they might make for a good 5 Times Alternis Proposed fic (or a 5+1).
- I also generally have a thing for characters who regularly propose (like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, for example). Heck, a Beauty and the Beast fusion would also be great.
- I like AUs, both in the "canon divergence" sense and the "complete setting change" sense. Bravely Default's universe very easily supports canon canon divergence with its multiple parallel worlds each featuring the same cast of characters but slightly different sets of events. I would love something that explores a world where Alternis and Edea DO get together, or have a different dynamic.
- Alternatively, am here for exploring Alternis and Edea's exact in-game dynamic in the context of a modern setting. Some ideas: Alternis and Ringabel as twin brothers; superhero/spy AU where Alternis is the superhero/secret agent persona of Ringabel (or Ringabel is the civilian persona for Alternis).
- I feel like the setup of Bravely Default is also pretty great for time loop shenanigans, and Alternis is a pretty good person to experience them? For example, every loop ending with Edea dying. Or Alternis, by looping, gets more insight into why Edea isn't interested in him, for example.
- Any setup that allows Alternis's protectiveness/loyalty kink to shine would be great. His Dark Knight skillset is great for situations where he bleeds himself dry to get out of a tough situation, and he and Edea both instinctively protect the weak and defenseless.
- Mistaken identity or identity issues dubcon (re: Ringabel and Alternis) is also something I'd be very interested in!

- Fleshed out Garland backstory -- how did his time as the Warrior of Light go? What was his personality like before Palamecia broke him? How did he manage to survive and maybe retain his memories across cycles? (It's unclear to me how much he remembers or how.)
- Assuming that Garland was a Wol, I'd be interested in exploring why/how he chose the name Garland instead.
- Mash up his story with FFI's Garland, if you can make that work.
- I also like Meia a lot as a character and would be interested in Garland-Meia parallels or interaction -- both of them being heretics screwed over by Palamecia, largely motivated by doomed love. Assuming I'm understanding the story correctly, their stories mirror each other: one involving a Wol who loved Sarah and succeeded, and another involving a Wol who loved someone other than Sarah and who failed/fell.
- Post-canon fic where he's in a new world and either (1) Sarah's not there (how does he feel about moving on from a person who meant something to him for so long?), or (2) Sarah (the original: Cid's Sarah!) IS there (how does he feel about that?).

- A take on Yun-seong where his obsession with besting Hwang stems from his feelings for Mi-na -- e.g. wanting to impress her, be Han-myeong's heir, feeling romantic rivalry with Hwang, etc. (And maybe he finally does get his duel with Hwang?)
- These two have a very joke-y, prank-filled relationship, but I'd love to see them have a serious heart-to-heart talk as well. Like, I think Yun-seong could have some angst about never being able to live up to Hwang's example, and Mi-na could have some angst about her father and growing up, and wasting her life away with useless rebellions.
- Mi-na and Yun-seong traveling together and encountering monster of the week or some kind of challenge they have to tackle together.
- Duels, sparring, something involving the dynamic of Mi-na being Yun-seong's mentor/coach.
- Romance developing on the way home from the hunt for Soul Edge. Tropes like "there was only one bed" are appreciated.
- Getting up to shenanigans together, like making bets with each other, daring each other into doing something stupid, pranks that go wrong, etc.

- Hero only: Things I like about the hero that I think could use more exploration: his hate relationship with Dark Lord; how he's an outsider to the Mana tribe but gets deeply involved in Mana stuff and ends up becoming a Gemma knight.
- Willy only: I feel like Willy has a lot of like... I don't know how to say it -- whump potential? He died in the original game, and in this game, people make fun of him for always trying (unsuccessfully) to escape. Seems great for torturing/giving him a hard time. I'm also super interested in exploring Willy's relationship with his religion -- how does he feel about the Mana tribe being scattered, how does he keep his traditions alive in the center of the Granz empire, etc.
- Amanda only: Yo... Canon divergence/fix-it where she lives! And gets to reunite with her brother and adventure with the others. Or at least more time with her when she's alive -- her backstory, her knife fighting style, her relationship with Lester, etc.
- Heroine + Hero: I admit I was a fan of their bickering relationship toward the beginning of the game. More of that. Also, the believing the other was dead and being like "They have the same name -- could it be??" dynamic was also great and I'd love more of that too. Just stretch out/lean into the early dynamic/part of their relationship, or take their relationship farther than the game does (the relationships in this game are so... chaste? I want the romance to be a bit more explicit/openly acknowledged than how it is in the game).
- Heroine + Willy: Them thinking about the other as they grow up. Post-canon AU where the heroine doesn't turn into a tree and they revive the Mana tribe.
- Heroine + Amanda: My memory isn't good but I think these two didn't interact much and Amanda pretty much dies shortly after they meet? Ouch. I would love to see these two interact. There's a lot of contrasts between them that I think are interesting: Amanda is a battle-hardened action girl while the heroine (in her original iteration, at least) is a damsel healer; the hero falls from one into the other's house; the two being tragically connected by the pendant; their endings where one becomes a holy goddess and the other becomes a cursed medusa.
- Hero + Willy: These two are great for a romantic or bromantic relationship. Also, it's interesting that they both know the heroine. (I always thought it was weird that it is only in the beginning of the game where they discover they both know someone named [heroine's name] -- did they not talk about this before?? Please fill this plot hole.) Or feel free to kill Willy off again and have him die in the hero's arms but with Even More Emotion.
- Hero + Amanda: Amanda and her feelings for the hero get so little screentime -- I'd love if they were expanded and there's more about their time together as gladiators. Also, I like pining!
- Willy + Amanda: I'm also interested in seeing these two interact more as gladiators too. How do they relate to each other? How do the two of them see the hero?
- Heroine + Hero + Willy: I like light-hearted love triangle drama, and I think these three can work well for that. They also work as an OT3 during the narrow window when they're all together. I received an absolutely wonderful gift involving these three and alsj;agas;dlfj I could read so much more.
- Heroine + Hero + Amanda: Also works well for love triangle drama. I wanted Amanda to stick around so that there could be some kind of exploration of the love triangle here, but no, this game punched me in the gut instead.
- Hero + Willy + Amanda: Gladiator OT3/BroT3! Anything that expands their relationship. How their friendship and teamwork and humor helps them cope with their horrible life situation.
- Heroine + Hero + Willy + Amanda: Amanda survives!AU could make this SUCH an interesting OT4 dynamic. Or two couples double-dating? As my earlier prompts indicate, I'm open to every possible configuration here!

- Bright colors. Saturated pastel colors like in Impressionist art. Limited palette drawings.

- Stylized art. I especially like art nouveau.
- Symmetry/mirroring. Two characters facing away from each other, for example. Or one right-side up and the other upside-down.
- Gratuitous visual symbolism.
- Characters sparring, especially if they look like they're enjoying themselves.

- Hurt-comfort scenarios, like one character injured and the other one worried/distraught.

Bravely Default - Alternis Dim, Edea Lee: Modern AU designs. Modern AU where Alternis has a motorcycle and Edea rides behind him. Anything with Alternis blushing profusely (maybe blushing through his helmet? ...somehow). Fluffy stuff with them as children with a very extraverted Edea and introverted Alternis! Alternis sketching or placing a picture of Edea in his journal.
Mobius Final Fantasy - Garland: IDK how to describe this, but Garland is quite good at communicating "I WANT TO BE YOUR KNIGHT" vibes to Sarah with his body language, so like... poses or facial expressions that communicate that? Garland and Sarah staring at each other with intense emotions. A tender moment between these two. Knight/chivalry imagery like kneeling, wearing a lady's favor, etc.
Soulcalibur - Hong Yun-seong, Seong Mi-na: Sparring! Touchy-feely poses suiting their vibe, like hugging, rough-housing, piggyback rides, straddling the other, etc. I really love the Hwangseo Palace stage if you want to use that as a setting/backdrop. Modern AU designs. Them in Joseon era clothing.
Sword of Mana - any: Too many characters for individual prompts. The art of this game is very inspiring -- I like the lush trees/grass and the lighting in morning/evening/night. Illustrate any scene from the game. Battle couples. Appropriate flower symbolism for each character. Redesigns or slight tweaks to their designs.

- Awkward or hesitant first times.

- Noncon, especially with a villain as the aggressor. (If the character is a hero, I tend to prefer dubcon or "something (villains, pollen, drugs, brainwashing, demon possession, etc.) made them do it" type scenarios.
- Sex with feelings or as a vehicle for characterization/exploring character dynamics. For example, combining this with my love for psychodrama, a character's neuroses or hang-ups affecting the way they experience sex/intimacy.

Any character being nonconned by a villain (so many of these characters are slaves/prisoners of the game's villains and that makes it even better for me). Threesomes.
