Alternis Dim/Edea Lee
Alternis is so good for this theme (see icon): his character is very much themed around marriage and proposals. In particular, I think Alternis/Edea can easily be read as Alternis being expected to marry into the family (mukoyoushi trope) or the two of them having made a promise to marry when young which they have kind of forgotten about (or refused to forget about) as they have seen each other less over the years. I'm interested in Alternis and Edea happily married, or Edea marrying Ringabel while Alternis angsts and pines -- either is great.

Chappu/Lulu
Lulu/Wakka
I feel like Chappu/Lulu and Lulu/Wakka are both really fascinating from a Spiran worldbuilding point of view -- just the notion that life is so dangerous/short and your love can be cut short at any time is so present in Lulu's story.
In canon, Chappu was about to propose to Lulu before he went on a Crusade, and I'd be very happy with anything related to that, but also I'd love to see something where he did ask and they were engaged, or they were actually married (would love to see a Chappu/Lulu wedding ceremony!), and Lulu during the game is a widow (it fits her game appearance, and the phenomenon of being widowed at age 22 is just SO tragically Spira). With Lulu and Wakka, there is also plenty of marriage-related stuff to play around with -- Wakka pining during a Chappu/Lulu engagement/wedding; Wakka and Lulu's own courtship/proposal/wedding post FFX (I think none of this was actually featured in game, so would love to see any work that envisions any of that); complicated feelings about attraction/connection/responsibility toward your brother's partner/widow; Wakka and Lulu moving on and finding happiness again. (I would LOVE to see Besaid wedding outfits/traditions.)
I'd be interested in seeing anything with Chappu/Lulu, Lulu/Wakka, or a combination of both. I headcanon Wakka (and to some extent, Lulu) having romantic feelings for each other that go back pretty far but both being reluctant to get together out of respect for Chappu's memory. But feel free to go with any headcanon you have here!

Garland/Sarah Cornelia
[Canon promo]
As far as I can tell, it seems likely that Garland was once an idealistic Wol who saved the world, married Sarah, possibly? (or maybe just saved the world with the expectation of marrying Sarah afterward), and then the world reset and Sarah reset and it's like that marriage/love never existed. It was a bit hard to pick out freeforms for this request because I wasn't sure if Garland actually married Sarah and if he did, if that would be considered an "established marriage"...
But anyway, there's a lot of interesting marriage dynamics to play around with here! First, the marriage contest aspect of various would-be Wols competing in a tournament, the winner of which is more likely to be the hero who will go on to marry Sarah; second, the notion of fate or higher powers/prophecy ordaining a marriage and the dubious consent involved with that; third, just fleshing out Garland's backstory and any courtship/romance/marriage that might have occurred between him and Sarah; fourth, Sarah as an amnesiac "spouse" whom Garland will uproot the whole world for.
I'm happy with both requited, fluffy Garland/Sarah marriage in a cycle where he became the Wol, as well as with his angsty bitterness in subsequent cycles when Sarah plays out the same motions with a different Wol. Messy feelings about e.g. either or both resigning themselves to a pre-ordained marriage are also very welcome!

Hong Yun-seong/Seong Mi-na
Mi-na is a character where a major part of her storylines is having a potential arranged marriage hanging over her head, or running away from home in order to avoid suitors she finds annoying. On the other hand, (while I would love to see something where Mi-na is betrothed to Yun-seong instead) marriage tends to largely be missing in Mi-na and Yun-seong's relationship. If anything, Yun-seong is kind of like a friend who acts as a refuge from all that marriage stuff (even while there are aspects to their relationship that have vague engagement vibes, like Mi-na gifting Yun-seong a family heirloom and him running off with it, forcing her to follow -- kind of feels a little bit like an accidental proposal), and she kind of uses him as a way to avoid her responsibilities a little longer, which has all sorts of marriage-related potential!
Anyway, I've picked a bunch of tags that have these kinds of vibes: using someone else to escape from an arranged marriage (to Hwang, Kim, or some other person), accidental marriage, etc. Or would love to see elements of a Mi-na/Yun-seong wedding itself. Mi-na and Yun-seong have a playful, familiar dynamic and so would like to see that reflected in any marriage-related antics they get up to, how they propose to each other, etc.

Odo/Quark
Mirror Odo/Mirror Quark
These two are so flexible and work with so many marriage dynamics. First off, they're both humorous/wacky characters with a humorous/wacky relationship. Any hijinks-related tag in the tagset works well for them. Also, they BOTH have canonically entered marriages of convenience (Grilka, Lwaxana) that left them with stronger feelings afterwards -- you really don't have to stretch canon all that much to imagine them in a similar type of marriage to each other.
Divorced, old married couple, secretly married, accidentally married, enemies-to-lovers whose feelings change through forced proximity...
I don't really have any specific ideas for the mirror versions of Odo and Quark -- they are such blank canvases, you can give them whatever dynamic you like! But any kind of worldbuilding about what marriages or similar arrangements in the mirrorverse are like; marriage as punishment; arranged marriages (by some kind of totalitarian government?); etc. would be appreciated.

Hawkeye/Riesz
Two thoughts on Hawkeye and Riesz: (1) Because of the relationship between their respective nations, I feel like there's a lot of opportunities for a political marriage (arranged marriage for political purposes) between Riesz and Hawkeye, either during wartime or afterward to cement peace. (2) Because of their big class difference, I also feel like there's potential for drama/angst about Riesz wanting to marry for love but Hawkeye isn't considered an appropriate marriage partner for someone in her position. Cue marrying anyway, abdication or elopement, and/or court scandal.
Alternatively, any kind of worldbuilding on what marriage outfits/traditions are like in Laurent and/or Nevarl would be very much appreciated!

DNWs
- Character bashing.
- Pregnancy; kidfic / original child characters.
- Trans headcanons. (Edit [20 June]: Sorry, I can't edit my sign-up but just wanted to clarify that this DNW doesn't apply to Odo. Feel free to do what you want with his gender and (shifted) physical characteristics, and I'm okay with Odo's feelings about his gender being a major part of a work. For solid Odo, I prefer either typical male biology or just no reproductive parts if you want to go that way. I'm also fine if you want to give him Bajoran anatomy as a solid instead of Human, and happy for whatever alien biology headcanon you have for Bajorans (and for Ferengi too). For other characters, though, I would prefer them as cis, or trans if it's not a plot point.)
- Feces, urine, or cannibalism.
- For non-con, very bleak endings like mindbreak or permanent damage.
Marriage-related likes
- Characters in wedding clothes! I love seeing characters dressed for a special occasion/in an outfit they don't normally wear. I also love when people design costumes, and a lot of my fandoms take place in fantasy worlds where I'd love to see some worldbuilding on what wedding outfits look like. I requested "Wedding" everywhere for this reason.
- Bridal carry/one character carrying the other over the threshold. I requested this in all canons where it felt that might fit, but feel free to use it anywhere even if not requested.
- Please feel free to go as AU as you like with any of these characters/canons. If you want arranged marriages or mail-order spouses or modern wedding receptions or marriage contests or whatever else that might be implausible in the canon's setting, please feel free to change that setting as much as you like to justify the plot you want to use. I love modern AUs, historical AUs, any wild/wacky/random AU you can come up with, going extremely canon divergent, etc.
- I like pining, and any kind of marriage mechanic in service of that is always appreciated.
General likes
- Friendly sparring between warrior characters.
- AUs of all kinds.
- Contrasts and opposites.
- Psychodrama / characters working out their Issues (maybe with help from another character!).
- Writing style and art style experimentation, if that's your thing.
- All ratings from G to E. Blood/violence/injury is fine. Explicit sex is fine.
- All genres: fluff, crack, darkfic, angst, smut, etc.
- Bodyguard crush.
- Wound treating.
- Sex with feelings -- positive or negative (or conflicted!).
- Awkwardness / awkward tension.
- Genial, warm flirtation.

Some prompts:
- Arranged marriage: Open to anything under this broad umbrella tag/trope, but throwing out one idea: AU where Alternis and Edea are betrothed. Edea is unhappy with this arrangement and longs for freedom, frequently sneaking out of Central Command, where she meets Ringabel, who happens to be Alternis's civilian persona (maybe he adopted this persona so he could keep her safe when she's wandering around by herself).
- Childhood engagement/marriage promise: Since Alternis and Edea have known each other since childhood, I'd love to see something that features them having this potential marriage hanging over their heads. Perhaps they were betrothed as children, or raised with the hope that one day they would marry, or they promised to marry each other as children as a form of play and now don't really know if that promise really still holds.
- Dimension travel: Love how dimensional travel is canon in these games! Feel free to play with alternate universe versions of Alternis and/or Edea. Maybe some timelines end up with them together. Maybe some timelines with a dead Edea or Alternis leads the other to seek out an Edea/Alternis from another world. Etc.
- Fake Marriage - Used to Fend Off Unwanted Suitors; Marriage of Convenience - To Avoid Marriage to Someone Else: I just can imagine Edea doing this with Alternis, using him as a fake betrothed/husband to get people to stop courting her, and Alternis has weird feelings about that.
- Magic - Trapped In Fake Perfect World That Includes Fake Perfect Marriage; Time Travel - Visions Of Alternate Timeline Where Impossible Marriage Happens/Works Out: Going along with dimension travel, maybe Alternis wakes up in a mysterious timeline where he and Edea are blissfully married.
- Marrying for Love - Fantasizing About Getting Married: Alternis gets carried away with a daydream, imagining his future marriage to Edea.
- Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes: I love the Beauty and the Beast conceit where the Beast asks every day for the Beauty to marry him and she always says no until one day something changes and she agrees. I love the humor of Alternis regularly blurting out a proposal and Edea exasperatedly shooting him down (the dynamic they have, kind of, in Bravely Second).
- Relatedly... Supernatural - Eros and Psyche AU: Alternis and Edea would work so well for a Beauty and the Beast or Eros and Psyche AU, with Alternis being the twisted "monster" Edea believes herself to be wedded to and Ringabel being her charming lover at night.
- Proposal - Attempts to Propose are Continuously Interrupted; Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned; Proposal - During Battle; Proposal - Rejected Proposal: Various scenarious that fit their vibe, which can be played for laughs or for angst.
- Wedding Ceremony - Watching The Person You Love Marry Some Else: I once saw an art featuring Ringabel and Edea getting married and Alternis humorously in the background bawling his eyes out. Would love something along those lines or more serious/angsty -- watching the woman you love marry an alternate version of yourself must be rough.
- I probably should have nominated a freeform along these lines, but I'd love to see something with the dynamic of "deciding to settle for marrying your second choice love interest because your first choice love interest has been MIA so long." Second choice = Alternis; first choice = Ringabel. Whether Ringabel comes back in time to stop the wedding or Alternis and Edea end up happily married is up to you.

I headcanon Wakka (and to some extent, Lulu) having romantic feelings for each other that go back pretty far but both being reluctant to get together out of respect for Chappu's memory. - Dimension Travel - Marrying Alternate Universe Version Of Dead Love; Dimension Travel - Temporarily Transported to AU; Married to Person Whose Dead In Theirs; Dimension Travel - Visions of Alternate Timeline Where Impossible Marriage Happens/Works Out; Time Travel - Travels Back in Time to Marry Their True Love Before It's Too Late: Lulu's story is so sad where people keep dying around her. I'd love to torment her even more by having her see (could be in the Farplane) a vision of what she and Chappu could have had if he hadn't died. Or it just would be lovely to see a glimpse of Lulu and Chappu truly happy, ephemeral as that moment is.
- Engagement - Childhood Marriage Promise: Chappu, Lulu, and Wakka all knew each other as children, so I love the idea of there being a marriage promise between Lulu and one or both of them a la the kind of dynamic Kairi, Riku, and Sora have in Kingdom Hearts.
- Marrying for Love: Works for both Chappu/Lulu and Lulu/Wakka.
- Proposal - "We Could Be Dead Tomorrow So Let's Get Married Today"; Proposal - Blurting Out Proposal Unplanned; Proposal - Character A proposes to Character B before big battle: Some proposals fitting Spira's danger and uncertainty. Fits Chappu/Lulu but also works for Lulu/Wakka too.
- Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes: More lighthearted but I can see Lulu doing this with either Chappu or Wakka.
- Second Marriage - Marrying Someone New After Death Of Previous Spouse(s)/Partner(s); Time Travel - Travels to Relive Wedding Day with Spouse Who Has Since Passed Away; Widowed; Widowed - Marrying Sibling's Widow: Some widow!Lulu ideas/potential.

Messy feelings about e.g. either or both resigning themselves to a pre-ordained marriage are also very welcome!
Some prompts:
- Established Marriage - Sacrificing the World to Save Spouse: I wasn't sure if this freeform really fits, but Garland and Sarah might have an established marriage and Garland might be willing to doom/disrupt the world just to save Sarah.
- Forced Marriage; Forced Marriage - To Save The World; Historical - Agreeing to Marriage to Save Kingdom; Magic - Magically Binding Marriage; Magic - Marrying For A Prophecy; Supernatural - Divine Decree Requiring Marriage: Various freeforms playing around with the notion of how much free will a Wol/Garland and/or Sarah have in the marriage and prophecies surrounding it.
- Ritualistic Marriage - Ritual Public Sex As Part Of Marriage Ceremony: Related to the previous, I'm interested in how marriage to Sarah works, and if there's any parts of the prophecy that have to be fulfilled with the marriage/consummation too.
- Historical - Marriage Tournament involving Combat; Marriage Contest - Tournament involving Combat: Just stuff related to how aspiring Wols take part in a tournament that leads to them becoming a frontrunner for the role of Wol, which eventually leads to marriage with Sarah, according to the prophecy. Garland competing in such a tournament and his feelings on that, etc.
- Marrying for Love: Despite all the forced aspects of a relationship with Sarah, I do think Garland probably thought he was marrying for love -- what else explains his behavior afterward? Another idea here is that maybe Garland escapes Palamecia and goes to the world where the original Sarah is and maybe he courts her/they fall in love there.
- Wedding; Newlyweds - Carrying Spouse Over the Threshold; Wedding - Ostentatious Royal Wedding: Just some freeforms related to fleshing out what a Garland/Sarah wedding might have been like. Would love to see what their wedding outfits would have looked like, e.g.
- Wedding Night - Morning After: Also curious here how marriage to Sarah works in this world. Does Garland wake happily to the beginning of a new life with Sarah or awake to a world reset?
- Wedding - Kidnapped Before/During Wedding: In Final Fantasy I, Garland kidnaps Sarah. I'd love to see something where in one cycle, maybe, Garland tries to kidnap Sarah to prevent her from having to live out her prophesied role over and over again. (It probably doesn't go well?)
- Wedding Ceremony - Watching The Person You Love Marry Some Else: Would love to see something where Garland has to watch as Sarah goes through all the prescripted motions of falling for and eventually marrying this particular cycle's new Wol.

- Marriage Contest - Suitors Must Compete: Given Han-myeong's desire to marry Mi-na off to a successor for his school, this seems like a plausible thing that might happen that Yun-seong might take part in.

Some prompts:
- Accidental Marriage - Woke Up Married After A Drunk Night: Love the idea of solid Odo and Quark getting wasted and waking up married and panicking about it.
- Cultural misunderstandings (Accidental Engagement - Didn't Know Item Was Traditional Betrothal Gift; Proposal - Accidental Proposal due to Cultural Differences; Proposal - Each Thinks The Other Must Propose Due To Cultural Differences; Wedding - Blended Traditions): DS9 is a very multicultural show, and would love anything that played with cultural misunderstandings and mixing, especially in a humorous way! For the "each one thinks the other must propose," I think it would be especially funny if Ferengi and Bajoran courtship both had gendered roles/responsibilities for each partner, and part of the misunderstanding is Odo and Quark disagreeing on which of them is playing which gendered role.
- Divorced dynamics: The idea that Quark and Odo are divorced at the start of DS9 is always one that tickles me. Some ideas: Sniping at each other. It just being a background detail that Quark and Odo were married and they don't talk about it. Backstory that Quark and Odo once got impulsively/accidentally married and quickly divorced... but neither of them can really forget it and they're both wistful about being married. They're divorced but still in a relationship that (to everyone else) appears identical to a romantic relationship (e.g. cohabiting, sleeping together, affection/terms of endearment). But they insist straightfacedly to anyone who's confused that they're obviously divorced.
- Established Marriage - Old Married Couple: Because this is their vibe so hard. Could be way post-canon, or during canon and they are already married.
- Fake marriages and marriages of convenience: Picked some pretty high-level tags here because there are so many specific scenarios that would work for these two: Marriage as cover for one of Odo's cases; a marriage of convenience to get Quark out of financial or legal trouble; marrying for the benefits and forgetting about it; etc. Odo canonically will marry someone to rescue them from difficulty; I absolutely think he would do the same for Quark.
- Magic - Game Of 'Fuck Marry Kill' Somehow Becomes Magically Binding: You don't have to use this idea, but someone wrote a funny FMK idea where Odo puts Quark as "marry" to get access to all of Quark's assets and monitor all his transactions. What if that somehow became binding? 😳
- Mail-order spouse: IDK, something about Quark and Odo makes me think they'd fit a mail-order spouse plotline (a la Aa! Megami-sama! or Chobits or something) well. Maybe there's a Ferengi service for buying a wife, so Quark orders one and somehow ends up with Odo instead. Or Odo, in one of his forever alone moods and hoping to find love, decides to order a spouse and Quark responds to the ad. Go as AU (modern AU, different first meeting canon divergence, etc.) with it as you need.
- Marriage Laws - Marriage a Punishment For Breaking an Obscure Law; Marriage Laws - Marriage Required as a Form of Criminal Rehabilitation: Some possible mirrorverse marriage ideas?
- Marriage Laws - Marriage Contract Negotiations: I like to think this is an important part of Ferengi marriages.
- Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes: I can imagine this working for either of them. On one hand, Odo is a grump who would delight in rejecting Quark's repeated proposals. On the other hand, Odo is a romantic who would be keen to get a commitment out of Quark.
- Secret Marriage: Maybe secret so that it doesn't affect their jobs. This one could also work with mirrorverse, if marriages are somewhat taboo.

Trials of Mana
Some prompts:
- Bachelor(ette) Party: Reading this, I suddenly had the idea of Angela arranging the bachelorette party and Charlotte also being there and that sounded hilarious. Really, anything that combines Riesz and an event that requires her to let her hair down in any way is already a recipe for comedy gold...
- Political marriage / enemy nations: I feel like the fact that Laurent and Nevarl are enemy nations leads to a lot of interesting marriage potential between Riesz and Hawkeye! I selected just the top-level "Political marriage" because I think most of the tags in this group would fit! Pre- or mid-canon: Maybe instead of invading Laurent, Flamekhan and/or Isabella decide to insinuate Nevarl into that kingdom through a political marriage. Perhaps Hawkeye is tasked with assassinating Riesz but it turns out he can't bring himself to do it. Or maybe after the invasion of Laurent, Riesz is only allowed to remain alive if she marries Hawkeye to legitimize Nevarl control of Laurent. Post-canon: Sealing or ensuring peace between Laurent and Nevarl by arranging a marriage between Riesz and Hawkeye.
- Long-distance betrothal/marriage (Arranged Marriage - Writing Letters to Get to Know Each Other; Established Marriage - Long-Distance Relationship): Another thing about coming from different nations is the possibility of a long-distance engagement/marriage. Would love to see anything with Riesz and Hawkeye e.g. sending each other letters, anticipating the next time they will meet, etc.
- Class differences: I love the difference between Princess Riesz on one side and rogueish Robin Hood thief Hawkeye on the other. Riesz wants to marry him but is feeling pressure to pick someone more suitable. Or she abdicates her throne in order to run off with him.
- Proposal - A who always playfully rejects B's repeated marriage proposals finally says yes; Proposal - Having To Convince The Person They're Asking That Their Proposal And Feelings Are Genuine: Some proposal-related freeforms I think fit them. Hawkeye being a flirt probably needs to work hard to get Riesz to agree to his proposal.
- Wedding; Wedding - Blended Traditions; Wedding - Family Heirlooms Passed Down For Wedding; Wedding - Ostentatious Royal Wedding; Wedding - Small and Simple; Wedding Ceremony - The Bride's Father Cannot Walk them Down the Aisle so Alternative or Substitute; Newlyweds - Carrying Spouse Over the Threshold: Various wedding-related freeforms. Given the different marriage scenarios and the two different cultures (Laurent and Nevarl), I would be very curious how you imagine Riesz and Hawkeye's wedding looking like.
